Video door-phone also known as video intercom is a stand-alone intercom system used to manage calls made at the entrance to a building (residential complex, detached family home, workplace, etc.) and access controlled by audiovisual communication between the inside and outside. An intercom with the camera is a system that replaces a doorbell at a security door. They are available in wired or wireless forms and are usually self-contained units. There are options for viewing the camera on a monitor inside the building or on a PC or smartphone or tablet. There are several varieties of this basic format. In addition to outdoor panels and one pushbutton per apartment, it is possible to find others with a numeric keypad. Others have built-in cardholders panels or even small screens to guide the user or allow entry for people with disabilities. Some of the video entry monitors have an earpiece similar to a  handset, while others are “hands-free”.
